Best Friend Letter - Part 1

Dear Best Friend,
You know, everyone meets new people every day…and you know these passerby’s
very rarely affect our life…but…sometimes you’ll meet people that not only affect our
life but change it completely. They become friends who affect our moods, our
habits. People who don’t initially seem like a big deal until you see who they really
are…and then there are these people, these friends, who become something even
more than that. People who change our lives so much, that it seems like they’ve
always been there. The ones who change dynamics so much that you vaguely
remember a time without them, or what life was like before you met them. This is
where you fit in…normally I have a terrible memory, but the first time I met you, or
rather the first day I spent with you I remember. Not like a memory so much, but
more like a continuous event and in a sense that’s kind of what our friendship has
become. Someone I couldn’t imagine not being a part of my life, someone who
became my best friends in such a short time. Someone who came about just in
enough time to save me, and magically enough we instantly shared a bond that
made us inseparable, not intentionally and not by choice…you were suddenly just
there. Like turning on a light in pure darkness, you finally see where you are, your
surroundings. As cheesy as it sounds you are my light, you opened my eyes and
finally made me see where I was, who I was, what I did and didn’t like about my
life. The scariest part is when I met you the first day I spent with you I had that
feeling, everything became so evident. And now what scares me even more is that…
the lights might be going out again, I might be right back in the dark. There was
only one other person in my life who was as close a best friends that I could find for
me, the day he left I lost my true best friend, I lost that light, and I don’t know if I
can handle it all over again.

Lighting Candles

Something’s not right, you look different this time
All they colors washed away
Replaced with pale grays
You tell me its time you gave up but I cant let you
If I have to fight this myself I’ll I will just to get you through.

So smile, you have no idea how much it effects me
Don’t cry; please don’t cry I want to be strong for you
But seeing you like this takes me down too
You’re dying to move on but you can’t move til you let this go
How it must feel I may never know
But just take my hand
Help me understand
I don’t know what I can do
But I know I can’t just leave you.

I promise you’ll be ok
This feelings only temporary the sun will one day rise
Color bursting at the seams and painting the bleak skies
I swear to you that I’ll stick around
I swear to you I won’t let the sun go down
I’ll keep the candle burning
Just to scare away the shadows
They won’t get you not tonight
Not tonight
I’ll never let go
Well get through this together
I’ll hold you tight
You’ll be alright
I’ll hold you tight
We’ll win this fight.

Look me in the eyes
Tell me that you’re alright
I’ll fight this fight
No need to worry we can make it through the night
You should know that smile brightens my day
But one tear rains on my world
Every day my heart breaks for you
I care too much I know I do
And I pray to God you hear me say
That I pray to God that you’re ok.

Friends Forever

There was a time when it was just you and me. we where so young, wild, foolish and free.
We didn't have one care on this earth, and we'd known each other almost since birth.
We'd made so much fun as we'd sit and we'd play. I know things wouldn't have felt right if we
hadn't seen each other everyday.
As we grew older our life was all about boys. We then waved goodbye to our bicycles and
toys.
As time went on we grew more and more apart, and you where no longer a piece of my
heart.
We hadn't spoken to one another from year after year. What a terrible shame as we lived so
near.
Then one day as i passed down my street, I was overwhelmed as i didn't think it was you i
would meet.
We went for a drink and we talked for a while and on that day i could do nothing but smile.
Then that was it everything was at an end. Why did it happen to you my best friend?
You where taken away from me in such a flash. If it hadn't have been for that terrible crash
I tried my best, I tried to swerve. That hit and run had an awful nerve.
So now as i stand by your graveside and weep, I think of the way god has put you to sleep.
How grateful i feel for the last day we spent. It really made me realize how much you always
meant.
Now i wait patiently until my days are at an end, because i know i will be greeted by you my
best friend X

Premium Member Howdy, Y'All!

Nothing warms the cockles of the heart like a cheery, "Hello!"
'Twill put a spring in your step and set your face aglow!
'Tis nice to hear a southern lass say, "Hi, shuga, how y'all!"
Or be greeted with a lusty, "Howdy" by a Texan's drawl!

A sunny greeting is welcome no matter what the language.
It brightens your neighbor's day and kinship it will assuage.
In Japan from the south in Okinawa to the north in Misawa,
Folks bow low and say to one another, "Konnichiwa!"

In France, noted for its exquisite cuisine and chic haute couture,
Gentlemen doff their chapeaux and wish a cordial, "Bon jour!"
Jewish brethern acknowledge others with a calming, "Shalom!"
While Muslim folks will greet you with the traditional, "Salaam!"

The Aussies have a delightful way their greeting to convey.
They lighten everyone's day by simply saying to you, "G'day!"
Spanish folks say, "Bueno dias!" to folks they happen to greet.
Germans hail others with, "Guten Tag!" strolling along the street!

Alas, the babble of languages may not be quite understood,
But just one small gesture might help to foster brotherhood!
If we'd take time to greet each other and flash a friendly smile,
'Twould surely make someone's day and life seem more worthwhile!

Unknowingly

be it known that we enter life unknowing
of what we are to become
of what we are to do
be it known that we enter life unknowing
of what will happen years from day one
blessed it the moments when we all learned to run
yet life is full of tragedy and triumph
not exactly luck of the draw
we all enter life unknowingly
but we always cherish what we saw
if one day our soul should be tired
if one day the strength seems to whimper
when it used to roar
thank God for everything that has been
for everything you have ever explored
let not the technical terms confuse what life is to be
the best part is being part of it unknowingly
for the One who knows all
with every reason all His own
sits on high, on His throne
Blessed child of God
your pain is in God's hands
your worries... lay upon His feet
no one knows what tomorrow holds
or if it will even begin
I say this, Mr. Terry
you are surrounded by a lot of loving friends
be not afraid of the chemotherapy
be not afraid or ashamed of the hospital stay
I ask one thing of you
only that you keep your faith strong, and always pray
I pray for you
need not to know you to care
don't think life isn't fair
live it the most you can
pray as we pray for you
bound by love... bound by strength...hand in hand

School Days

School, about which everyone has different taste
For all children it is not a waste
Grows up to learn, write, and play
And to make statues with clay…..

Days of schooling are the valuable days to remember
Might be of Jan, Sept or December
Where every child comes to join
Forgetting that who has how much of coins

Starts from the Morning Prayer
And the songs which we sing
Assembly ends with the lectures of principal
Considered as the king…

Each day comes with a bright glow
We go to the school in the bus
In which the driver makes the horn blow
So fast the 8 periods pass away
And then everyone goes their own way..

12 years have gone and we are grown ups now
We wonder how fast the years have passed
We ended the last day of the school
With a party blast….

Everyone had tears in eyes to leave the school, teachers and friend
But each one was determined to work hard
For what they had planned
Promising to keep in touch; we sadly scattered
But still in our hearts, the school glittered

Might be one day after long time,
When I meet my friends and ask;
“How are you?”
Who knows if they mix up the letters and say
“Who are you?”

We Never Learn

I've had people, some that were classified as friends,
Take advantage and use me, and I pray the hurt someday will mend.
There are those, and they know what they've done,
But when the day comes and they have to answer to our Maker, where will they run?

Those unkind deeds are forgiven but they are awful hard to forget,
And the sad part is the friendship that ended in regret.
But on the up and up most mankind is of the forgiving nature,
Just wish we came with a warning light to let us know in advance when a breech of friendship
will occur.

Maybe I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer,
and I am sure not the brightest of stars,
But when you loose trust in someone, I think it is very hard to repair,
No matter how much you love them, or how much you care.

It's almost like a wound that refuses to heal,
All because someone lost sight of our values and the way we feel.
That is why we cannot allow ourselves to dwell on the emotions at hand,
We must forgive if we seek forgiveness that day in front of our Savior we all will stand.

Ode To Baboon Face

Can't recall a time before you that
I'd ever laughed so loud
I hear the music clearer now
When all I heard was sound
You taught me how to drink and toke
Like real teenagers do
And brought me cups of chicken soup
When I had colds and flu
It hasn't always been this way though
Not always platonic
For the first day we ever met the hate
I felt was chronic
Your belly laugh, your squeeky voice
Your gappy goofy teeth
The way your pants fall off your ass
Whoever would believe
That one day I would laugh like you, at you
At everything
Who knew behind your baboon face that
You could bloody sing
Your pudgy hands would grasp the neck
Of your beloved guitar
The only thing you played that day happened
To be my heart
From hate to love, then afterall it's back
To being friends
I'll be forever grateful that you drive me
Round the bend!
I wouldn't change one piece or part or thing
That makes you,you
So thanks for all the feral times
For the hullabaloo

Retreat At Trinity

What a wonderful day this will be
as we travel together to Trinity.
On this day, as the darkness of night
gives way to a brilliant new days light.
A lady enters my life in a very special way,
like crystal, she reflects the radiance of the day.
I become a moon in orbit around her
and her name is Mary. She is like no other,
such a simple name for the sun.
A simple name but a profound one.
In a room full of old friends, I drift quietly apart,
unaware of her affect, as she touches my heart.
She is the sun for this one wonderful day.
Its, as if, God in all his love, would say,
"Bill, your life is too dull, too dreary, a bore.
I'm going to send a lovely flower to your door.
She brightens lonely days with her vibrance.
This is a special flower. A single glance,
will turn night to day or a gloomy day bright,
lift your spirit high, or, just make you feel right."
I said, "Lord, does this flower have a name?" And
He said, "Yes! Her name is friend."

Time Will Bring It Out

Whenever I'm feeling sad, depresed or down,
Your humor and happiness seem to turn it around.
Your bright smiling face always lights up the black,
I only wish i could give, even a fraction back.

You look at me that way, and I can't help but feel,
That the look you're giving me, is hopefully real.
I want you to know, but a wall is in the way,
I need to tell you something that my mouth won't let me say.

Your beautiful brown eyes, staring deeply into mine,
I'm hoping somehow, we can take away the line.
The first day we met was one of the greatest in my life,
How could i possibly forget that day without strife?

All my crushes crushed me, except for one,
And with the one that didn't crush me, I've had the most fun.
I don't know how to tell you, I don't know what to say,
The words are stuck inside my heart, trying to find their way.

We've become so very close, you and I,
I want to know you, even after I die.
