Gravedigger Cravings

With a 7-Eleven Big Cup eulogy slurp
And a McDonalds Big Mac pall bearer burp,
it’s Big Boy Slim Jim holiday mourning time
Take a family reunion picnic funeral ride
to a cemetery last supper barbeque burial ...
shovel down the gullet styrofoam servings
of coffin words charcoal dirtside purged
Famous food jingles playing over the radio
was the final ear candy corpse dish heard
Box of chocolates and cake frosting flowers
bring back such fond broken diet memories
	And guilty pleasures
		of Weight Watchers infidelities
Illicit affairs of late-night microwave heated morsels
brought forth categorically caloric denials ...
		refrigerated temptations
	tiptoe sneaking down the pie-hole
Oh, the double-layered life you led,
the gravedigger cravings you had
You always pillow stashed
an eclair energy bar
under the silk sheets kissy lipstick red,
to stimulate your gastro-erotic appetite after midnight
Carnal tastings of naked delight ... good belly vibrations —
	sugar rush,
	melted butter
Buckets of caramel popcorn love ...
Lip-smacking custard creampies,
your tongue couldn’t get enough
Popsicle toes,
finger licking
Mouth watering pickles,
spicy honey breasts of chicken
Succulent crab legs,
steamed oyster juices exotic
Lobster chowder brie ... pure aroma ecstasy
You took a Cajun deep creole swallow,
spooning the bottom of the gumbo pot
Relaxing those alligator jaws for the belching last time,
loosening your belt past the final notch
Satisfied donut eyes orange glaze hollow,
cinnamon bun thoughts be on your English muffin mind:
Restaurant quality neo-mortician style buffet,
wine cellar casket smorgasbord
Undertaker carry-out at the Last Breath café,
with a menu selection to die for
Oh, the extra toppings life you led,
such gravedigger cravings you had
Time to put your Pizza Hut pepperoni desires to bed,
		and brain-freeze
that last heaping spoonful of Big Frosty in your head
Then close them Cheesecake Factory eyes,
	when those antacid,
		digestive ...
				            gluttonous lights go dead

Hole In the Side Pocket

A shiny penny fell to the ground,
and the face of Caesar
started spinning
ear candy propaganda around

Sparkling tales
of a former, dark ale kingdom
Oar barrel sales
that spread liquor violence
under a rising Western horizon

The little copper-voice image said:
“Mankind emerged from the Dark Ages,
when us abominable Yeti men
stole the fire that fell from the sky ...
And lit those caves in ice-melting stages —
Our wholly brimstone aim
was to rewrite the Word of God pages”

His cloned Caligula tone cackled on:
“From the ancient prow to the modern rocket;
we’ve woven tavern tall tales,
and tailored mariner lies
to fit inside a used merchandise cranial pocket”

Then with rusty, rhetoric rumbles of pale reprobate regret,
the talking penny bazaar head
stopped spinning, and fell flat dead

And in the miry sinking place where his peppery mint scent lay,
a Messiah message was salt written in the wet parchment clay:

The black orb
sucking light down
into the polar mouth socket
Is a doubled over Fourth kingdom,
failed coup of a Davy locket

Silver urn buried ashes on the Adam backside
of a naked Eve courtroom docket
Sin bilked holes that are trick stick dug ...
bank shot in an empty side pocket

Look for the firmament cue:

Metallic tales
of a future dark L kingdom
Oak casket sales ...
trafficking in graven idol violence
under a fading Western sun

Penny wise Lucifer ...
pyramid scheme falling
The prince of darkness rolling
the solid white lie —
His hard spherical,
lip-smacking skullduggery cry:
Telling the sin striped clay balls
that they won’t die

The black orb
sucking souls down
into the Magog mouth socket
Is a doubled over Fourth kingdom,
which failed to harm
a single Lamb of God locket

Beware, covetous ones —
Don’t fall into the bottomless hole
of Satan’s dark side pocket!

Oh Purple

Majesty, royalty
         such dignity, a rarity
Oh Purple,
         the color of
the sun, the moon, the stars
the fields, the granaries, the ponds,
the vast kitchen, the nanny, granola bars
[all under prune-tinted glasses of course]
                             Wine, oh how fine!
                                Denatured alcohol, I lie supine!
                                     Yahoo messenger headings, nails, telephones
the inside of my ear, candy, colognes!

                                                                      Oh Purple,
How I love you to death.

But how often do I revert to gloom,
for all these things, are beyond my credit debt
                                         'tis the color of doom,
                                rich in meaning and hue.
                               the color of my room.
a brooding cross between red and blue.

The Water

I used to hate the rain.
Younger it brought nothing but being
Uncomfortable in my skin
So self conscious and small
Every time it rained I opted to stay in.
A heavy storm planted land mines
I tiptoed around myself
Trying to be hugged by a claustrophobic rainfall
I pushed away the cleanse.
How hard could it be to let the river take the fear?
My brain is the ocean
I was an apex predator
But also my easiest prey
And I didn't realize I couldn't swim
Until I was already drowning.
Submerged in rolling clouds and
Harmonious ear candy
The sky is crying
I wish the rain was resin
To encapsulate a collective core memory.
A needed hydro therapy.
Energy tsunami held my soul in it's eye
Washed away imprisioning body pollution
Sweet release of pre learned inhibitions
I am the water I once loathed to be in.

my thoughts
          are on hold..
up&down..
          await
the pause
the chord..
                then..
suspend
evoke
emotions
              of
              calm
              reverie:
phrase by
                 phrase
   on repeat
                      revolve
circles
              intervals
                              pause
await..
            an ethereal
                               image
to
appear
             appear
                          appear
