Premium Member The Ladies of Poetry Soup

I pay homage to a special group
Our ladies here on Poetry Soup

I shall start my list with mother Beer
A Lady with whom I hold so dear

Of Elaine George it’s clear to see
She melts my heart with her poetry

When it comes to Sharon what can I say
I would humbly bow before her any day

For my friend Rhoda it is clearly written
With her as momma cat I wish I were a kitten

Katherine with her darling Jenny so bright
The two of them together are a sheer delight

Michaela is off to Collage excited this year
I’ve never met a soul that is so dear

We have two Ladies fighting for their boys
Mary and Christy both deserve all life’s joys

Two more ladies that are really swell
My friends Laura and the darling Adell

Margaret is special, kind and really sweet
The most spiritual lady I ever did meet

We have a Mermaid off the Australian Coast
To my dear friend Robyn I propose a toast

Carol please know these words are true
Never in this life could I forget you

I guess I must be getting a little dreary
I have yet to mention Karen O’Leary

To Astrid, Bella, Farrah, Peggy and Rene’
I am blessed you have all passed my way

Speaking of blessings these words are true
Crystal proves we are blessed by what we do

One special Lady just sets my heart aglow
Tis my oldest daughter Sarah Jho

The two I hold in my prayers and memory
God watch over Tami Violet and Lynn Marie

I must tell the truth for I shall tell no lies
Added this cause I forgot Carrie and Heidie Buys

And now I am feeling very low and blue
Cause I went and forgot Patricia and Kristin to

I didn't even have to think it over twice
Before I jumped back and added D-nyce

I didn’t realize when I started this endeavor
That the list could just go on and on forever

I must end this poem for it’s starting to hurt
Wife just hit me for being a flirt (Just Kidding)

I apologize to any Ladies that I have
overlooked in this poem. Please know
I hold you all in my heart, prayers and
daily thought. I love you all. God Bless

Lake America

About 235 years ago give or take a day
Groups of pirates, adventurers, thieves and whores
Flocked like lemmings to these shores
Here they breathed the pristine air
Planted roots and learned to share
A growing feeling of a common goal
A glorious steering to miss the shoal
Dormant seeds of freedom sprout
Amazing words of freedom they did shout
These amazing words got written in a Declaration
The founding brick of our new nation
The bounty once learned it was beyond ample
More than enough for all to sample
Hiding in the shadows an influential few
Plot to control it for us that ain’t new?
The beginnings rot of a sequel
The day we pointed and said, “They are not equal.”
Our golden lake in which we are a drop
Tasted pollution and began its rot
The water pumps ceaseless flow
Stagnation and pollution began to grow
Pumping from the bottom up to the top
Working perpetual to make it flop
Oh we had the right and responsibility not to go
Silently we stand here and scuff our toe
Yes we own it all the papers are clear
Mindless puppets in our fear
Fear is crippling and that’s a fact
Get in the wheel chair or take it back
Not guns, or knives and bombs
Just say no refuse to go along
If you ask there is a solution
A way to refresh the lake with a kindness REVOLUTION

Remember no lake is pure if its drops are polluted, and America is at 20% pollution
(citizens at or near the poverty level.) So far History has only shown one result of
this condition…violent revolution (read the newspaper it has begun). We can once
again show the world a new paradigm” Humaneomics”, and in one generation “We
the people”, can once again be free. The world will no longer want to fight us…they
will work to become us.

My Words Flow From My Heart

" My Words Flow From My Heart "

I am a writer of poetry
black ink flows through my pen
I have been around this great big world
my words may make you grin.

I sometimes write on foreign soil
sailed across the oceans blue
I can make the birds and other things
sing romantic songs for you.

I can show you heavens gold
and touch the stars above
setting fires in souls of man
and write of Gods great love.

I want to erase these evil battles
help singers write some songs
give mankind back their hopes and dreams
and fix the things gone wrong.

I am a writer of poetry
the words just flow so free
I write for you and everyone
these words to you from me.

Heartfelt emotions can move the earth
all emptiness I want to fill
we poets that have lived and died
our words keep living still.

Lets all share our love today
and remove the crimes at night
through it all, through everything
man's future can be bright.

I am a writer of poetry
you all know me well my friends
I was there at your inception
and I will be there at the end.

With each step our whole life through
in all we say and all we do
whenever you have a need for me
I will be right there just for you.

My inner flame always burns
when my writing starts
God blessed me with this special gift
my words flow from my heart…

It Must Be Felt With Your Heart...

Sir Robert B.

Lost, no where to turn to, a path blocked by insecurity and doubt
He looked into my eyes and saw my overflowing emptiness, and with out pausing he spoke
Kind, and strong words entered my spirit, and they echoed beyond the walls of my heart, it was hope
Reassurance to my being, were his well constructed words, I paid audience for God spoke but by him

I sat speaking into an hour or so, and he listened to my every word, perhaps in question
Never the less a speech took place, where God sat as the judge, and I smiled in tears
The growing ache in my throat, suddenly disappered into nothing but smiles and cheers
Deep inside I felt his concern, a true concern for me, alas a person whom understood me for me

My Lord seeketh my heart?
I hunger to learn of your richeousness my King
All migthy you are, truly I know You hear my heart sing
Sir Robert took the time to listen to my weep, and I broke unto tears in part

Not judging he understood my pain
The exchange of words went on and on, and my eyes still rained
Sour drops of sorrow dripped from the windows of my soul
As he explained my very pourpose to fulfill in my mission of life, of my role

A chance was giving to me by my Father, Lord, and Savior whom loves me dearly
I have never felt so alive, full of peace and joy, my eyes stare out into the vast green
A part of people I have never seen
I write this piece to your honor, Sir Robert, because of you I can see all, and truly clearly

I Love You All

" I Love You All "

For you once again
I grab my poetic pen
and let my thoughts flow
painting words for you
my words of visual art
as my poetry will always grow.

As a creative poet
touching two important senses
your emotion and your vision
so please let me begin
as I try and achieve
for you this poetic mission.

I want to thank you all
from the bottom of my heart
for being my reading fans
I wished I could give you
a warm heartfelt hug
then shake all your hands.

Its all of your fault
the fine people like you
that ignite my creative desire
I could never ever
thank you all enough
for inspiring my writing fire.

The time you all give to me
is a precious meaningful thing
I will forever cherish
I have left my legacy
and my poetic words
shall hopefuly never perish.

Now my gift for the world
when I pass to die
will be left behind
keeping me alive
through my poetic words
flowing within your mind.

A famous poet
is a human being
that never dies
their published words
always touching hearts
and so many precious lives.

My reading fans are great
giving me inspiration
to stand so proud and tall
I sincerely thank You all
as I end this poem
saying I Love You All...

A Fallen Beatle

"inspired by Linda's write on JFK"
    My Tribute to John Lennon

                                    " A Fallen Beatle"

A child from across the pond...
Whose words would help the world to bond...
A true poet from the heart, who's ideas
touched so many even from the start...
A man who inspired a country to be free..
Spoke of war and peace while in bed for all to see..
A legend in his own write, help the world to Imagine
                                     without love or hate...
After a reborn life another would be his fate.
He spoke of peace and freedom for all...
Sadly a bullet from a mad man was his fall..
His body and being was taken and now disappeared...
But his words and soul live on for all to hear...
Never again will an Icon like this grace our eyes...
All his words and music will continue touch many lives..

Twenty Crayons

(Dedicated to and in memory of the
children who were killed in the
Connecticut school shooting.)

Remember bells and keep your eyes
from crying,
from the sights that held your
screams today.
Leave your stolen dreams taped to
the windows
and live each one until you fade
away...

And should you need the words of
sweet
St. Agnes.
Weeping as she says a prayer for
you.
Standing with St. Nicholas on the
threshold
Hoping you won't have to
understand...
Why your mommy cries with folks
around her,
And your daddy's head hangs to the
ground.

And should you need the words of
sweet
St. Agnes.
As she spreads her arms for you
today
and all her fellow saints offer their
verses.
Because today she cannot find the
words to say.

Farewell now, sleep well and keep on
smiling.
Twenty crayons, left upon the
ground.
Farewell now, we promise to
remember...
that twenty crayons have fallen
down.

He Had a Dream

He had a dream
He stood his ground
He spoke his words
All nice and loud
He changed the world
With his strong words
He taught us all how to care
He took his love and taught to share
His anger withheld
All hardships and scars
Through bombs of hate
And words past the stars
His heart still beats
His blood still flows
Through the earth it screams
It over flows
He is our conscience
Our reminder of hate
He showed us the way
Though some still stayed
We have to finish
What was started before
We’re closely there
But something’s blocking the door
The hate from past years
Is still standing strong
We must let go of that
Which we know is wrong
To learn from our mistakes
We need to learn what was taught
Everyone no matter what color
Needs to treat each other like brothers
We’ve all seen the past
So lets look to the future
You can help
Just learn justice from this preacher

Things Tend To Happen

I only want to be noticed "maybe" a little bit everyday,
To be told I'm beautiful without my words having to say.
I only ask for less than enough to brighten my path that i walk,
and I only say just enough to conceal my troubles in talk.
I feel like an animal that's been locked away,
So much aggression and plenty to say.
Still afraid to speak the words my mind replays,
so here I am writing another hopeless mindless says.
What is hidden behind the covers is only for one to know,
What is scared to speak the truth but continues with the flow.
The tears for years of hiding and running also cowering behind hope
the word that has yet to show me the gripping of the bloody rope
why hold strong when so many fail to even hold
Like your life has been pulled and pushed as silly putty or mold.
I guess for the reason everything happens in-deed
everything happens for a reason and I believe that's my plea

The Wonder of Leo Wright

I read the words of a man
And I wondered...

Of the life he led
And the things he said
And of what he might have said to me
If our two paths had crossed

How can such profoundness and genius
Live on in a single human being?
What a truly gifted man he must have been
What a privilege it would have been to know him

I read the words of a man
And I wondered...

If he were here today
Sitting in his scarlet chair
Would he still put pen to paper?
And mystify us with his words
Not knowing the great affect they have on those who love him most

And would he share his wisdom
With those who he knew would use it wisely?
Or would his secrets remain to be discovered in his cryptic words?

Words of truth and brilliance
Words of a legend

... ...I wonder.
