This poem will have it all.
It will razzle you and dazzle you.
It will spin you around and throw you into the air.
It will knock your socks off.
You will be gobsmacked by it!
This poem will amaze, incite and excite.
It will be the poem of all poems.
It will be incredible, living truth loudly and proudly.
It will be the poem people talk about for years to come.
It will be the poem of a maestro.
I am as ready as I have ever been to write this one.
The mother of all poems.
The queen of words.
In one swoop I am paralyzed,
too intimidated to write a word.
Trixie, my muse takes over.
I hear the keys clanking, and I smile.
Whatever she decides is okay by me.
Reading David Rakoff’s book,
In rhyming couplets, really shook
Me way down deep inside my core;
I read and read and wanted more.
A novel all in poetry?
I think he wrote it just for me,
For who could love it more than I?
I’m sure that you can guess the why.
The brilliant rhymings all surpass,
In creativity and sass,
The best that I have ever read;
I wish I’d written them instead.
The author, sadly, died before
His novel hit the selling floor.
Oh, how I wish I’d had the chance
To tell him how his rhyme enchants.
So I will spread the word around,
A fellow-rhymer, honor-bound,
That here’s a book that all MUST read,
To knock your socks off, guaranteed!
yes im calling because im in crisis
you know theres so much i could do for this world...
please dont hang up....
theres so much i could do for this world if they would only
understand my disabilities
if they would only provide decent housing for the disabled...
please dont hang up
if they would only understand these things...
we are the richest country in the world...
but the government is broke, you say?
gotta build more bombs still?
whats that? you have another call?
please dont hang up
theres so much i could do this world
i could create art, act, and inspire people beyond your wildest dreams
but the governments broke, you say?
gotta keep giving those tyrants money, you know
gotta keep giving the one percent those tax breaks
they are job creators you know
even though i cant find a job
and have a resume that would knock your socks off
whats that? you have to go? budgets are tight and they laid off more crisis
workers?
oh, please dont hang up...
