Premium MemberEMPTY ROOM ONCE

Absent from the body
against oxygen-gasping
Dad entered his
Father's house
of "many mansions..."*

Today, we gather
as his fruits with gratitude
commemorating Father's Day
in this once empty room
that reverberates his legacy.

*John 14:1-2 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Premium MemberTribute To Our Dad

Forever legacy of our Daddy’s faith
Asserts his trust in the Lord’s authority
Tenaciously props his fatherhood* triumphs
Hoisting home midst hardships toward heavenly hope
Earnest to lead our family so eagerly
Readily showing love midst discipline regard
Surely, he is blest Mama’s darling and sweetheart…

Director --- our human coach and driver dearest
Anchoring us, blending well truths and mercy acts
Yeah, he’s not perfect; yet his best is God’s “Yes.”

*Proverbs 17:6 Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

Military Family

Crying is draining I come from a military family where maybe you get a pat on the back, or a grunt, if you did good my dad would never tell me he was proud. I would hear it through my mom what he thought. You certainly don't cry or show emotion isn't there too much shame around emotion. Are we not humans.

Finally a couple years as a peer counselor I started learning if you want something you have to push for it. I started drawing my dad special pictures a model t ford, a bear because I thought of him as papa bear. Eventually I started telling him "I love you. "

I don"t think families should go without love after all isn't it "us" against the world.

When I joined my church about five or six years ago I began to accept that I was loved and accepted. This is a wonderful church with wonderful people and your my family especially all my sisters.

But I love my brothers in Christ there as well though I am quite shy around them still but I trust them.

Thank you for showing me to love and hug again. Also for allowing me to be authentic I am fully human and a work in progress.

My Father In Heaven

There is no one like the Father you are to me.
I was no mistake in your plans I see.
I never was a plaything or an oopsy.
In your heart I never was or will be.

You knew me before the sun ever rose,
You knew me before the ground ever froze.
You knew me before the first bird had flown,
You knew me before the first flower had grown.

You were there the day of my first breath.
You were there the day of my mother's death.
You were there the day my father died.
You were there as I wailed and cried.

You wait for me each day to come to you and pray.
You wait for me each day to look to you and say,
You are my Father and I thank you for your love
You are my Father and I think of you above,

Though each day I long to be with you,
I know you are there always with me...

Happy Father's Day...

Premium MemberThe Brook of Memories

Today, a storm blew through
And tears with rain drops fell.
Out of nowhere, thoughts of you
And a pain began to swell.

Yet in my still reflection,
In this somber introspection
A little brook of bubbling joy
Flowed in, as I remembered as a boy...

When God knit a common tether
Through our daily ways and means.
He wove our lives together
As we courted common dreams.

While storms will always be,
And times of loss will sadden.
There is a Brook of Memories
That will always serve to gladden.

Above the loss of those departed,
Is a solace never leaving.
Held dear within the heart,
A brook of joy is heaving.

To sooth the pain of loss
The God of comfort sent a stream
To wash away our hurts beneath
The Brook of Memories.
