I caught a ride to Denver just outside of Santa Fe.
The driver was a cowgirl in a souped up Chevrolet.
She said,"Are you lonely?",I said, "Is there another way?"
"Maybe we could get acquainted tomorrow afternoon.
I'm ridin' bulls in the mornin', but I'll be through right soon."
She laughed ,"Maybe we can heal you 'neath a big silver moon."
I lasted less than "money time", as was normal of late.
Just couldn't seem to keep my seat until the count of eight.
But this time was not as bad for this time I had a date.
That was forty years ago, and I loved them one by one.
We kept that souped up Chevvy to remind us what we've done.
The backseat forty years ago is where we made our son.
