FREEDOM
Our freedom isn’t free, it came at great cost
For us to be free, many lives have been lost
Against the Hitler’s and Hussein’s of this world
Men and women fought for freedom’s flag to be unfurled
Throughout the history of this Great American soil
Our freedom has been secured by blood letting toil
Had we not been willing to make this sacrifice
We would have tyrants dictating our life
So when you hear the bells of freedom ring
And the patriotic songs we all love to sing
And when you see our great flag waving high
Remember the ones who chose to die
Remember the families they left behind
No greater tribute will you ever find
Then realize each night your freedom’s not at stake
Because our military might is vigilant and awake
The road to glory, dead in fields
the fallen men,with broken shields
who gave their lives so valiantly,
the price of freedom for you and me
The road to glory dead in fields
Mortars falling from the sky
when they burst,men will die
for our freedom it came to be
The road to glory dead in fields
The best to offer our Country's yield
greatly outnumbered, their fates are sealed
fighting an enemy they rarely see
my last tour here then home I'll be
The road to glory dead in fields
July the Fourth is nearly here,
And we are still fighting to keep freedom in this land we hold so precious and dear.
We can’t drop our guard or look the other way,
We have too many enemies at our gates that are waiting for that day.
God Bless our Troops, and let them know we really care,
Give them respect and honor, for upon their shoulders our freedom they bare.
Maybe someday there can be real peace,
And all violence and crime will desist and cease.
The ones that once held our freedom we now call friend,
Hopefully one day all our fences we can finally mend.
Sometimes I wonder what really goes on in Washington, D.C.,
I think sometimes it’s about their own prestige, and I wonder if they even think about you and me?
Politics has taken on a different meaning than what it was originally set up for,
There seems to be too many little fat and greedy hands in our cookie jar.
This is election year and our pickings are slim,
But if we choose wrong our future may look grim.
Study the choices as best you can,
This sure isn’t the time too elect as our leader the wrong man.
God Bless All, and have a safe and wonderful July Fourth weekend,
And to our troops much love we do send.
