Best Recovery From...Heaven Poems

Whiskey Wings

ever been whiskey bent and hell bound?
like hank williams junior and those homocidal hounds...
ever talked to yourself and heard mad melodies?
ever talked to the devil and heard sad symphonies?
ever try to fly to heaven on a pair of whiskey wings?

like a bat out of hell...an expansion of evil
that poisonous potient leads south to destruction
i reach for the stars and drown in deceit...like a bird in a cage wearing whiskey wings

like a river of rage...i dive headfirst into wicked water...
vomitting violence at abomination altars
i stumble and i stagger...my many mistakes make me falter
i do mile long lines so i can go further

sound turns to silence...i'm fleeing this scene
i get mixed in the mayhem...wearing whiskey wings

lost in a land of empty bottles and broken dreams...fractured skulls and skeletons swing from nooses on death trees

i eat poisonous fruit from a garden of disease...i can't fly to heaven on whiskey wings
