winter weather coming strong

covering the ground all over town

slipping and sliding

soft cushion for the falling

white snow

bare trees

iced over windshields

frozen cars

what beautiful weather for the common cold

sneezing, coughing, runny nose

scratchy throat, an earache or two

these are the pleasures of winter weather

Not So Snowy Day

Winter fooled weather channel
It didn't get so cold here, and not so much snow
The school did close and that is the main thing
My son won't get to play in the snow
He was so ready to sled in the snow/ice
21 degrees is cold enough but the weather people
Predicted 17 with a wind chill of Brrrrrrrrrr

Does anyone really know what the weather is?

The Lilacs Are In Bloom

The Lilacs Are In Bloom
by Rick Rucker

The lilacs are in bloom,
I can smell them from my room,
They make me feel so fine,
Like aromatic Sunshine!

Like a Blessed Gift from Above,
Fresh air and Spring, bring thoughts of Love!
Just a few weeks ago,
We were looking out at snow!

Hard to go a-courting,
When the weather has you a-sporting,
Every single piece of clothing,
Your psyche filled with cold-weather loathing!

The weather now is warming,
I hear honey bees are swarming,
Now that it is Spring,
My Heart can finally Sing!

No longer in my cave,
Feeling like a slave,
I'm going to find a Mate,
Gee, I hope it's not too late!
