Do trees weep?
Do they weep when you burn them?
Screaming in pain,
writhing in agony,
their world at it's end.
Do trees bleed?
Do trees bleed when you cut them?
Their insides gushing,
their veins pulsing,
their roots filled with tears.
Do they weep then?
Do they bleed?
Do you hear their screams?
Do you feel their pain as you rip at their bark?
Do you feel their aches as you rip out their heart?
Do trees have a mother?
Do trees weep when they see her die?
Do trees have brothers and sisters? Fathers,aunts or uncles?
Do trees remember? Do they remember all their kin?
Do their memories remain? On the fields of battle where victims lay;
-long after all is gone?
Dead forests filled with memories floating listlessly in the air;
without a care, you kill a memory and it's voice falls silent from within.
The last sound you hear is a thud, was that their screams?
Do trees have a voice?
Did you hear their voices plummeting into the dark?
Did you hear them scream?
If trees could speak, what would they say?
What would they say to you?
What would they say to us?
Could you bare the truth?
The truth of wisdom so profound?
The truth that grips your soul around,
makes you think when you don't want to,
makes your mind expand it's size;
If you could hear the cries of the universe,
would you acknowledge it's cries?
