Best Losssmile Poems
Her chestnut hair, loosened, cascading endlessly,
gone.
Her never-tiring gaze searching the corners of my heart,
gone.
Her smile so radiant it outshone the sun,
gone.
Her words in which she reinvented the world,
no more.
Her beauty outlasted twenty summers and then was
gone.
I never saw them cut her locks,
never saw the light in her starved eyes pale,
never saw her smile retreat,
or heard her fall silent
as her body slowly froze
before they burned her, too,
upon some piled-up pyre.
For I stood by as the black car took her,
At a distance
Safe
Rooted
My love dismissed by egoism
Is She the One?
Is she the one who brushed my side, soft as an angel’s wing?
Her face flushed with the beauty only innocence can bring
The sweet smile dancing on her lips somehow became my own
As our eyes met with pleasure, sending thrills I’d never known
How swiftly my smile faded as she hastily walked on
Without a second glance, she turned the corner and was gone
How could she steal my very heart, when I stole not one kiss?
I let the tears fall that I’d saved for such a time as this
Reaching for my handkerchief to wipe my blurring eyes
My fumbling fingers faltered and confronted a surprise
My heart was not the only object plucked by supple hand
My wallet also disappeared; my ambush she had planned
I never will forget her face, it’s etched within my mind
I vowed no rest until this evil temptress I did find
Is she the one? Officer asked, quite doubtful at the sight
I smiled at her behind the glass, “Oh, she’s the one, alright.”
Trickles slowly down her face.
Under that smile mask your fear.
Drop by drop you feel this disgrace.
Regretting the end be so near.
Nothing deserved or understood so.
But one thing learned you have no choice but to go.
Pulling you under the bed of disease.
You eyelids wither close with such ease.
Fingers unclench the sheets of the bed.
Millions of butterflies fly from your head.
Peace now been reached up in the sky.
I sit here and smile a butterfly passes by.
"I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it."
I refuse to let the the sound of my heart breaking interfer with my smile.
Some whom are weaker depend on it as there source of accomplishment.
So I will cry when im alone in a little while.
But for now ill help you up, and make your fear go away
You will smile a broken smile but let me know your getting through
And instead of leaving to suffer in my own pain ill stand right here.. Ill stay.
My life was once true bliss
Now that Im as weak as my feelings
I have realized all of this...
Was because of you.
But I refuse to feel any less because of it
I will walk with my head high, even if that means dropping it when no-one looks.
I will shove this hurt way down deep into a closed pit.
hollowed out in my heart.
**Exceeds maximum line count but i just couldn't loose feelings by dropping a stanza.
In the place where you once stood,
a shadow still remains.
Instead of you mixed in my blood,
that darkness fills my veins.
Aware of every heartbeat,
that pumps you to my thought,
I push away your memory,
and pretend that I forgot.
I won't let myself give in.
I won't let myself forgive,
You needed to let me go,
something I'd rather not relive.
I smile to myself,
thinking of friendship once so grand,
And the way that everything would mend,
Because you could understand.
But now it's done and over with,
Your shadow's what you leave,
I force myself to look ahead,
To smile, to not grieve.
But remember, if you're reading this,
To smile to yourself, too.
Because in my heart there's still that spot,
the one that's left for you.
