Front Page Story
In the news today we hear of more crime
It’s becoming a common thing to find
Robberies and killings cover the front page
It’s as if the world is in a definite rage
I think this all happen when families fell apart
When religion in schools was no longer being taught
They say there is a reaction for every action in life
And the effect of our own doings has caused this strife
What ever happen to the good ole days?
When families never parted ways
Where children got a good education and it served them well
And child predators were locked up in cells
When churches were full on any given Sunday
And preacher and parents still had a say
When a hard day work brought a decent living
And people had in their heart the gift of giving
When homeland security was a dog
And incidence of terror were never logged
Oh take me back to the good ole days
When dinners around the table were the rage
When MTV wasn’t a sexual channel
And men weren’t afraid to wear flannel
When the front page story was a pleasure to read
And parents took responsibility for their seed
It's the era of the teen
Nosy parents are just plain mean!
Don't get what I want to do
Grounded? It's just like a zoo!
But although parents can be tough
Without them life is a bit rough!
When all the rearing has been done
A true adventure has begun!
