Best Introspectionbutterfly Poems
"I dreamt, I was a butterfly or was I, a butterfly dreaming . . ."
When I was but a little girl
Of nine or ten (or so)
I dreamt of far off places
And vowed that I would go
When I was just a young girl
And barely in my teens
I dreamt that I would mingle
With Europe’s Kings and Queens
For I would be a famous STAR
A singer of great renown
And I’d be often summoned
To sing before the crown
By the time that I was twenty-five
I no longer dreamt of yachts
But the daily care and feeding
Of three tiny little tots
And now that I am older
And all the children have left home
I still dream I’ll find my fortune
When I write that perfect poem!
