Song To the Moon-Repost

The moon hung red in the sky,
too heavy for the sky to uphold
she leaned against the rooftops;
the stars glittered in fear about her.
I walked beneath her heavy laden form
and my lips formed words, whispering,
a silent prayer. In my hand I held a book,
from it I sang to the moon;
like the coyote in the night, I sang.
Words of the ancients escaped my tongue
in songs of healing, songs of hope.
Was I selfish to not want the moon to depart yet?
For it was her celestial body
that had first given me hope all those nights ago.
I spilled words from my mouth in the form of song.
They sky was pregnant with her form.
Red and old she watched me, eyes solemn.
I sang through the night
giving her the hope she once gave to me
and slowly her form retreated
back into the heavens.
The moon hung yellow in the sky,
too heavy to be crowded by clouds
she leaned over stars
who glittered quietly with her in the night.

A Monster Underneath My Bed

If there's a monster underneath my bed,
I hope it's not too scary.
I hope that he...or she, has scales,
instead of being hairy:

cuz mommy says I always sneeze,
around the birds and bumblebees,
when running after Mac and Cheese,
because I have these aluhgeez;
so, yeah...please don't be hairy,
please.

If ever I should think it's there,
I'll cover up my head and hair,
and hope it doesn't like to stare,
cuz mommy says that's rude:
show manners, not your additude.

And I hope it doesn't think I'm picky,
if I touch its nose and say it's sticky,
cuz...cuz I would
-yawns-
cuz I would think...that's kinda creepy.
-rubs eye-
I guess I'm getting kinda sleepy.

BUT, umm, if it's a lady under there,
I hope she has a lotta hair,
because my little sister, Clair,
is really good at taking care
of dolls.

Besides, I think it's fair
that older brothers oughta share--

...weeeeell, sometimes.

But if the monster is a guy,
I really hope that he can fly,
cuz daddy drives an airuhplane,
but he has to drive it in the sky:

so I'd hop aboard my monster's back
and together we would tell him "Hi"!

And then we'd--Oh!

Well, there's my mommy's knock again.
I guess I'll see you later then,
my best imaginary friend.

But could you tell the he or she
that's lying somewhere under me,
that if it heard the things I said,
to not sleep underneath my bed,
because

...that's kinda creepy.

Human

The darkness calls out to me
on the eves of the shadow king
I receive messages from the other side nightly
am I so vain to believe I am a link
a link to all things non human
i feel as if I am a ray ray hope shining in the night
a beacon of hope for the future
the very thing I fear is me at my worse
I can only hope for an alliance with humanity
reveal to all what it's like to truly be human

A Poet's Hope

Visions of sunrisen amour
Enhance each blade of eager wing,
I hope to muse a wile of way
To sound each chime to the flow of rhyme
To surrender to my heart's display

Word's ebb and flow fill my mind
Begone, all wordless and unworthy fray,
Sound all drums of fervant heart
I glow with aplomb, enjoying rhyme
And hope for aura of pensive play
