Sounds of Summer

Sounds of summer...It's all around and in the air;
     In towns and cities it's everywhere!
Sounds of summer...cookouts with steaks sizzling on the grill;
     Music blaring, the chattering of people eating a hot meal.
Sounds of summer...Pool parties and backyard volleyball;
     Block parties with people laughing with a little alcohol!
Sounds of summer...Children playing in the creek;
     Running around playing Hide-and-seek.
Sounds of summer...Shrieks of laughter at the amusement park;
     The sounds of summer continue even after dark......

Homeless

I would love to have no home,
So I can live here on the side of the street with the sun.
It’s golden light would warm me
And I would not mind so much having no walls.
I would sit right there underneath the green leaves
And tilting my head back, say good morning to the woman in the window.
I would say how do you do the man in the doorway across the street.
I would tell the people going into Denrees what a wonderful store it is.
I would watch people pass and shout to them about what a lovely life I led.
I would cloud watch with the neighborhood
and play games with the children while their mothers shopped.
Then, when the sun set, I would watch the street lamps go on
And huddle to myself, waiting for morning to light the streets once more.

Happiness

I found it though the eyes of my mother
Quietness of running track while people scream my name
The silentness of my pen hitting the paper
The book that would never stay close
From the shadow of the moon at my window
From the breeze that comes over me on a hot summer day
In the company of people without worry
From the comfort of a warm blanket on a cold day
In the music that fills the air around me as I dance to the beat
From the birth of your child
In the smile of your lover
There touch, there smell, there sense of closeness, the warmth of their heart beat
The ring that give everlasting love
Happiness you can find it everywhere now it is your time to start looking for

Smile

Some times i love to have a chat,
Nothing special, just about this and that,
I like to make people smile and try to make them laugh,
And that is only just the start,
I talk about the weather and i talk about the rain,
I talk about anything that will take away the pain,
Some-times lifes hard and it does get tough,
But we must take the smooth,the smooth with the rough,
I long to see the world be a better place,
But to see that we need more than faith,
Come on people lets all smile,
Even if its only for a little while

Happiness

I walked miles on my feet and hope,
against all weather, people and slope,
But after some distance I could not keep,
enough pace as the way was steep.

I was already late not by months but years,
still I dragged my feet amidst all fears,
at night when the moon swept the tides away,
I dreamt of my past till sleep made me her prey.

Where was I up to ? What did I yearn?
for there are left enough experiences to earn,
I was no genius, king or noble soul,
But that never deter me to walk towards my goal.

Often in way people inquired about my way,
"There are better players than me", all would say,
I must but forget since the goal is too high,
and I lacked the skills to fly to the sky.

It's still early to lay to test,
my faith before I finally rest,
Only God knows if I could ever harvest,
the crop of happiness without remorse or pest

Our Soup

I just never know what to say
When I talk to new people every new day
I love meeting people of different places
Wishing I could see their faces
Getting to know of different thoughts
Hearing and learning lots and lots
We are all like one big family here
All kind and forgiving, nothing to fear
We welcome new, salute the old
And many poetic stories, are to be told
So come on and join the soup
I promise we won't leave you out of the loop!
