Family Picnic

My wife and I, some family and friends,
took advantage of the beautiful weather.
We packed our picnic baskets,
there were sixteen of us all together!

The location we had chosen,
was a resort town, not far away.
We settled down on a sandy beach
that overlooked the bay.

The bay was on McDonald Lake,
which had a beach of snow-white sand.
The temperature was warm enough,
so swimming would be just grand.

It wasn't all that crowded.
The kids had room to play.
It seems that we were lucky
we picked a real good day.

It was absolutely beautiful,
like I would picture paradise.
Such beautiful flowers and giant trees!
It got my mind to thinking, "Life is really nice".

Some rowboats and canoes were there.
You could use them if you wish.
You could ride around on McDonald Lake,
or maybe even fish.

Some of our group went swimming.
Others went for a nature walk.
Some of us just sat right there,
all we did was eat and talk.

Everyone was really pleased
with how the day turned out.
A lasting, Summer memory,
of that we had no doubt!

Premium Member My Brightest Star

Today, my brightest star is still my baby
This reference she may find disagreeable
Sometimes the things she says make my head spin
Leaves me speechless as I listen to her opinions
My first and only, beautiful and a definite miracle
Although that’s another story
Sent to me when I’d given up all hope
Through her I’ve leaned some patience
Well, at least much more than before
She inspires me to live life to its fullest
Without fear of neither present nor future
To love without expectation
Finding a peaceful existence within
She may not enjoy the art of cooking
And has no green thumb for gardening
Yet has this extraordinary love for people
Which shines in beautiful smiles easily shared
She is my brightest star in this life!

Cephallonia, My Love and Me

Its been there
Always has
Since first we fell in two

The ache to open the secret
Let this beautiful love
Be public view

I can say it in hushed tones
Always wary of stray eyes
Always eager to see

I want to shout it from the hilltops
But my heart is sellotaped closed
No one knows I am loved for me

People fall upon me
Look away
Sorrowful conclusions on their face

I want to tell them
If only you knew
My tender place

I often dream of it
Packing up our bags
Watching our clothes huddled close inside

Wondering what it will be like
On the other side of this secret
With no more secrets to hide

Walking hand in hand
For the very first time
Feeling the hot sun on our skin

Being greeted as a couple
Nothing would make me more happy
To be acknowledged as the love next to him

Walking along the beach
Just as the sun is setting
Looking at a sleepy blue sky

Holding his hand in mine
In the freedom of Cephallonia
Trying so hard not to cry

We would dance
Our forbidden bones
Excited by the touch of the sand

Nestling between our toes
Encouraging us
To embrace this beautiful land

As tired eyes emerge
We walk the sun kissed
Breathing in every beautiful breath of the sea

My heart is at last
Shouting from every hilltop
This is Cephallonia, My Love and Me...

Happiness Is a Balloon

The sky is painted a beautiful blue
The clouds are snow white
The sun is shining through
There is a gentle breeze every now and then
We are appreciative when it comes around the bend
The clouds are at play on this beautiful day
Forming shapes of animals and faces of men
We look up and can't help but to grin
We are filled with joy
We think we might pop
Just like a balloon
The happiness won't stop

Summertime

Summer is a time full of love and being carefree, not a worry in the world, only finding
shade under a tree. Listening to the humming birds as they drink from the feeder as the sun
goes down at night, looking at the summer sunset is such a beautiful sight. Hearing the
crickets chirping what a beautiful sound to hear, laying in my hammock on a cool summer
night enjoying a cold beer.

Beautiful Suprise (Inspired By India Arie's Song)

u really are a beautiful suprise
so unexpected but i'm willling and ready for acceptance
i feel and see
you have so much to teach me
you have already painted a smile
upon my face and in my mind
u are a beautiful suprise
inspiration to the things i write
to the way i feel when i lay down at night
to the radiant glow on my face when i meet with sunrise
you are the beauty that was within me
now has been released
unexpected definitely
rejected not hardly
you are a beautiful suprise
a glorious addition to my life
a ticket to eternal smiles compliments
and pure delight with happiness
you are the very suprise i longed for
desired given and needed more
you are the reason i smile
the reason i talk all the while
the reason for a comb to my hair
the reason for a quick glance and not stare
the reason for carmax to my lips
the reason i'm desperately yearning for a kiss
the reason i write day and night
the reason i'm overjoyed out and inside
you are a beautiful suprise...

His Happy Place

I know it now.
I see green and blue.
I hear the birds song, singing his name.
It is thee most beautiful place to be.
I smell the wet dirt when it rains.
It is earth made.
What is that place you say?!
Rain forest.
                Rain forest....
He says!!
Now close those beautiful eyes of yours and there you'll be.
Sitting next to that blue water fall as you please.

* the Ocean Side

Such beauty is something one must never forget.
The smells, sounds, sunsets at the ocean side.
Sitting on a beach towel on the warmed sands with
a big umbrella shading from the sun of the day.

Now evening has come the sun is setting across the ocean.
The warm summer breeze blowing bringing the rippling of
the blue waves sloshing against the rocks on the beach.

Sky is now being lite up with colors of the rainbows.
As she sits watching the sun looking now like a big,
red beach ball, ready for someone to toss it about.
Breath taking to see such a beautiful site from God.

Than sets the sun, and up comes the moon lighting up
the darken beach with such beautiful light, showing all
that has now been swept on to the sands from the gentle
waves, far out shells, crabs, jelly fish, star fish, lobsters.

So the night ends with her picking up shells, putting them
into her bag, folding her towel, putting down the umbrella.
Taking one last walk across the sands wet with the tides,
knowing tomorrow she will be back to see it all again.

Ugly Or Pretty

Everyone says im pretty and beautiful or cute.
So why dont i believe them.
Many people say I shouldnt worry about looks, but i do.
So many people have said im ugly, I should die.
Im so used to it, it amazes me that people would think otherwise.
I dont think ill ever think of myself anything but ugly.
I asked my friend Casey if he'd date someone ugly like lil ole me,
he said yes but that im not ugly, he considered me cute!
Im so happy, so special, so praised.
Everyone says im pretty and beautiful or cute.
So why dont I believe them,
