Best Fantasysleep Poems
She was fashioned of nothing, wind and whispers, and sighing air,
Yet she floated visible and taunting there,
Faint phantom with ethereal, wispy hair.
And she said, “Come sleep with me”
In a voice like murmured, sombrous sea
On the shoreline of Eternity.
And I yearned with longing, thirsting for her liquid kiss,
In a night of drawn-out, clinging bliss…
Still she hovered, teasing the air, and whispered this:
“Beware, it’s understood
In a bed of carven ebon wood
On a black silk sheet we’ll sleep for good.”
Slowly, night melts into dawn, and then,
the fairies, dancing through the wooded glen,
go to their beds, to sleep the day away,
so they can spend the darkest hours at play,
you laugh, dear friend, I wonder that you dare,
for tis the truth I speak of this I swear,
Pray what is that you say?, you have not seen,
king Oberon, and his enchanting queen!
Then, do not tarry, while the stars are bright,
and sleep not, for upon this very night,
the royal pair, and subjects one and all,
prepare for yet another midnight ball,
Beware though friend, allow me to be clear,
the mind may find such visions hard to bear
but believe, and fear not, for magic, looked upon
will stay with you forever, long after "they" are gone,
In knowledge of this truth, my wisdom's grown,
as has my gratitude for being shown!
I can’t sleep tonight
She says.
Because he smiled,and said
Will see you tomorrow then
Before he waved and disappeared
Into the crowd of night runners
And she looked at his back
Wishing,
Praying that she sees another day
And to see him,
And to wear that new dress
To show him she can be feminine
To bend the line of buddyism.
I can’t sleep tonight,
She says
Because when he smiled
It was a nervous crack
A smile o a beautiful woman.
Tonight she thinks,
That he knows,
Their friendship is over
She won’t sleep tonight.
