Overheard Myself

I overheard
a four-year old ask his dad
why he saw the moon at daytime,
               but never saw the sun
                         at night.

                  Quite unprepared,
the father pondered for a while
on how to explain the matter
              with an answer truthful
                        and right.

                 I grinned, recalled
I was four, my dad fumbled,
         same question, same delight,
pale moon out there in broad
                         daylight!
