Afterlife Ii: My Ascent

As the reaper took my hand,
to take me to the land,
where death is but a memory,
I couldn't help but for my eyes to become teary,
I was finally leaving this land of toil and sin,
for a place outside of life, hopefully heaven,
I felt at peace with everything,
like my sadness and grief were a thing
of the past
at last!
While we soared through the heavens and the cosmos,
I was left speechless, at a loss,
at the beauty of the universe,
until we reached the gates, and I heard a verse
of unimaginable beauty in a language unknown,
but it made me rest assured I was home
