Best Deathangel Poems
I heard an angel speak last night
and he said "write".------------------Elizabeth Barrett Browining
So I took my pen to mark his words.
No angel would I slight.
There’s a corner in the graveyard
where the small ones lie in death,
some torn from their mother’s wombs
before they’d taken breath.
Other dates show three short days,
or a month up to a year.
This is where the graveyard angel,
the most often will appear.
You will find her graven image
on the gravestones all around.
Older graves will have no flowers
to adorn the little mounds.
The grass grows with abandon
as it always has for years,
saturated splendidly
with grief-stricken mother’s tears.
But mothers, fathers, siblings die.
The graves could be forgotten.
God sends his graveyard angel
to guard each and every one.
She will be there to guide them
when that final trumpet sounds
and their souls are all transported from
those tiny little mounds.

Do not weep for me,
For I am now in the home of my father in the sky
I feel no more pain within me
My sole was simply reborn; I did not die
Do not cry for me,
For my time on this Earth was full of joy
I hold no regrets and focus not on the “could have been” and the “would be”
I am an angel of God; my now rested body was merely a decoy
Do not moan for me,
For when you speak my name, it should not bring you pain
My death should be a celebration of the meeting with my savior not made into a
tragedy
My good days has over powered my bad days so why should I complain
Do not sob for me,
For your tears will not bring life back into my bones
I am a guarding angel watching over all of my love ones; this is my destiny
I have rejoined my husband and children so worry not because I am not alone
So shed not one tear for me my family and friends
I can see that this day has brought you much distress
However, on this day, I can rest weary bones and my suffering can finally end
So only cry tears of joy because I lived a wonderful life I know I was truly blessed
Look at that girl, so short and sweet
Look at her angel wings lift her off her feet.
Look at her hair sway over her eyes
Look at her father hold her as she cries.
Look at her tears as they roll down her cheek
Look at what has happened to this girl so sweet.
Look at the life that she left behind
Look at the innocence that kept her blind.
Look at her lie deep in the ground
Look at the people making a miserable sound.
Look at that girl, so short and sweet
Imagine her angel wings lift her off her feet...
