There she gos I thought to myself as she walked away
seams like yesterday I was helping her to take her first step,
today daddy's girl is all grown up doing it all her way
I can honestly say it wasn't as I slept,
I've always been there to make her smile when she was sad
always there to pick her up to talk to or lend a hand,
12 years of her in my life...for 12 years Superman was dad
to her if the world came crashing down there I would stand,
I kept her safe, kept her warm took away all her fear
now as the day gos by I see her need for me subside
today it's all about cute boys and music in her ear
and for daddy's filling I now have to hide,
seeing time move back wards would give me that sensation again
when I was her hero and she loved to be in my arms
now a quick kiss goodbye and a pat on the back like a friend
how dose a dad weather this storm?
as she walks away.... she'll never be a little girl again I know
then a quick turn to look back and see,
dad is still here as she's ready and I watch her go
then a smile from her and I know it's for me.
Amazed yet proud to see her be
comfortable, relaxed, no matter where effortlessly,
to be her would be what any body would want to be
to fill free at peace with who she is and safe knowingly,
my every thing when she was born like daddy's girl should be
now a wonderful preteen and a person unknowingly,
my biggest heartbreak is what I could see her be
for my little girl will be swept away respectfully,
for all that her mother and I have done for her to be
a little girl this special happiness should be her destiny,
a head of her the best times of her life is what will be
for now I'll keep her right here very lovingly.

Her laugh
cheers me in every way
Sometimes chatty, sometimes shy
always truthful, never a lie
She is thoughtful, well mannered,
always well dressed
She would keep the second rate sweets
and give you the best
She always behaves as a good girl oughta
the perfect girl to have as a daughter
She is very very pretty in every way
I know she will break a few hearts someday
