What a Difference a Day Makes

What a difference a day makes
A minute, a second is all it takes
To create history, to change the world
To embark on ventures, brave, new and bold

It takes a day for war to start
A day that will, for years, tear nations apart
It takes a day for life to begin
One that will, on another day, a new nation win

It takes a day to launch a new career
One that will, our lives, into a new era steer
It takes a day to realize the work of a lifetime
Work that will, one day, be praised in song and rhyme

It takes a day for a typhoon, tsunami or earthquake
A day, that will, millions of lives rudely shake
It takes a day for disaster to strike
Disaster that will take away the people and things we like

It takes a day for you and me
To be the people that we can be
It takes a day for you to grow
And the friend of a lifetime, get to know

What a difference a day makes
So, let us give it all it takes
To make this day, special and good
To be the people we can and should.

A Box Of

A Box Of

One grapefruit day under the sun
a little girl buried a box of letters
beneath a dying banyan tree.

Sweat beads like tears trickling
down two tomato cheeks
she dug as though burying her heart.

The sun had hidden when she finished
and gave final pats to the patch of ground
a pat on her own back, on memories.

She did not want to take the letters
that belonged with these meadows
and these skies, and nowhere else.

On the very last day under the sun
the little girl buried a box of wishes
beneath a sighing banyan tree.

Shattered Dreams

A broken home, a bleeing heart, a torchered soul. Shattered dreams are all I know. Tears
of pain fall from my soul. My world was torn apart six long years ago. When you were ripped
from my world. Shannon, Erin, Larry, and Danni your with me in my heart. And you are my
soul I won't ever let you go. My heart crys out for you everynite . Im lost without you, with
each tear that falls I will always love you. Shattered dreams are all I know. Pain follows me
whereever I go. Hopes light faded long ago, leaving me with this empty hole in my heart.
That can never be full without each one of you. I'm just not whole, your the missing pieces to
my soul, your what makes me whole. The day I lost you, all my dreams were shattered.
What they did to us should matter, the lies they spoke, the hope they stole and our bonds
they broke. They shattered are dreams from the day they spoke. They had no right to tear
us apart, to play with our hearts. To shatter our dreams and rip our world apart. To take
what wasn't theirs, to rob us of all these years. I'm the one left here ta cry all these tears.
Hope and pray that you will be safe every day, week, month and year. Pray that one day
you will be here by my side. Never again will tears of pain fall from my
eyes.

Playtime Done Lullaby

Sung to the tune of Aura Lee or Love Me Tender

First verse:

Precious baby go to sleep
Now that day is done.
Close your eyes and not a peep.
Precious little one.

Chorus:

You are lovely, you are sweet
All day long you play.
Now it's evening twilight time
"Til another day.

Second verse:

On the swing you played today.
Merry little one.
Laughing, loving, gentle play
Now the day is done.

Sing chorus again.

Blood Brothers

My children mean more than the world to me
Molding little men into what they could become

Each day brings with it fresh kisses
Not one one them Mommy misses

Challenges met, some old, some new
Pictures reminding us how much they grew

As hard as each day can seem
Patience is a virtue, helping redeem

Wanting what all parents want for their kids
Teaching and learning underneath their lids

To be smart and strong and ever so kind
Brothers united, forever blood, their bind

Not all brothers connect the same way
Puzzle pieces teaching each other what's right to say

Somethings are easier to learn than others
Only time will tell if they can love each other as brothers

Doing the Same Everyday

Doing the same everyday
I do the same thing everyday
I have learned to laugh and play
Forever in my memory
Is where my children
Will remain to me
You too must learn
To laugh and play
For no one never knows one’s last day
Although we don’t want that day to come
Never Never
stop having fun
because someday
your last days will come
So
please please
do the same things everyday
always always
laugh and play
soak up all the smiles and fun
until the day is completely done

When

when will we have justice
 when will we have peace
when will our equal rights not be decreased
when we seek for the truth all we get is rejection
 when we will be excepted
 for who we are
for our individual qualities, and brilliance
when will everyone look at everyone else for the better and not the worst
when will the day come that we won't have to stress, just express the love and exceptance
the day that we give our people a chance
 there people a chance
 when will that day come
