Everyone Just Wants To Be Understood

When you're a baby,
you have a whole life to look ahead.
When you're a baby,
you just play all day then go to bed.

When you're that young,
you have no doubts in mind.
For when you're that young,
There is no end of the line.

As a child,
You walk that unsteady rope.
As a child,
You’re filled with dreams and hope.

As we grew older,
Those dreams have flown passed.
As we grew older,
We put those hopes in a cast.

Moulded in the back of our minds,
To be lost.
Moulded in the back of our minds,
To be covered in frost.

But my question is,
Why have w
e let go of our dreams?
My question is,
Why have we let ourselves come undone at the seems?

We used to crawl around,
Looking for adventure.
Now we crawl around,
Looking for a saviour.

Someone to save us,
From who we have become.
Someone to save us,
From falling on our bum.

We used to cry out at night,
Just waiting for a kind hand.
Now we cry out at night,
For someone to understand.

Someone to just understand,
What we are going through.
Some to just understand,
Our point of view.

Now that we’re all grown,
We look back on our childhood.
Now that we’re all grown,
We know everyone just wants to be understood.

Ode To the Littles

Ode to the littles
Who cry and cry
Who cry every day
by and by

Ode to the littles
They run and they jump
And they hit
Their heads. Bump!

Ode to the littles
To a glimpse of the past.
To memories we all
want to last.

Ode to the littles
of another time.
Back when life was simple,
Before there was crime
