My old cat lies beside me on the sofa asleep
She is sleeping soundly but opens an eye to peep
She is resting her weary old bones tonight
She peacefully sleeps her coat shines in the light
She can’t move quick enough to catch her prey
She used to be really fast back in her day
Now she just watches and thinks about sleep
An appointment with the sofa to keep
Shan used to be a kitten a long time ago
It’s hard to remember because now she is slow
Her hearing is going her eyes are failing too
It may get much worse but what can you do?
She will be looked after well in her dotage years
I will feed and nurture her dispel any fears
My old cat Shan is lovely I don’t want her to go
Shan is eighteen years old now and I love her so
as i walked out side in my old overcoat throwing some old bones to the dogs , i happen to
look across the yard and saw a funny looking thing looking at me although it was smileing
and almost as white as the snow it slowly came silding up to get some too . it must have
been hungery along with them too. so i took back in the house to find something
good .some old bread and things that were left over. and when i returned there were more
than one the birds ,and dogs and a possion he was was still smileing as i came back insight
as the birds sings they filled there belly .
and now when i go out to feed the dogs the rest is there waiting with the frogs....
sitting in an old run down
barn
dreaming
of the day
upon waking that the animals
will be non-rabid
towards me
they do not
sit with teeth bared
they moved with the precision
of the preternatural
ability
that makes me calm
i move like a 90 year old man
with all the knowldge
but with hands
that
boast fingers which
simutaneously
make
a floor clean
and
a whore scream
