Annelies of Amsterdam is our guide
She took us to her home town for cosmo's ride
Amsterdam is a city of canals so wide
Where everything is open, not much to hide
The treasures of art, deep sea and culture
She showed with pleasure and with pride
A replica of maritime venture converted
in to museum
A floating Chinese restaurant on low tide
The four major canals, representing past Prince and empress for political
system,
Gentleman And single are reflective of the social profile
The ancestors struggled so hard to build a city of canals and ventured so far
In Far East to Indonesia to spice their lives with clove, cinnamon and pepper
With the magnificent past, present lessez faire
The future can be doomed if not taken care
p.s Annelies was our tour director for Cosmo's tour of six countries in ten days
The prophet is questioned
Stopped in his path
Strangled with words
Absorbed with questions
He answers back.
The simple city is where it's at
A self-sufficient utopia is a matter of fact
Living with the basic necessities
Food, water, and all the necessary sureties
No classes, no war
Food and water, no more
But the children of Adam want more, more, and more.
1 mountain of gold and they'll ask for more
2 mountains and they'll beg for sure
3 mountains and they won't talk to you forever
No mountains, for their mercy is severed
Forever.
The prophet is ridiculed
For the simple city is a city of pigs
We want a city with a cherry on top
Slot machines
Lean chicks
Brick homes
Dome security
Obscurity, complexity
Sexy, savvy
Cool
What fools, the prophet said.
Let us move away from the simple city then
And I will write for you an ideal city, brethren
But for a luxurious city, which I personally pity:
Turn a segment of the population into an army
To defend this city and usurp our enemy
Force a segment into bleeding, sweating, and crying workers
To make our luxurious crafts
And stomp the best and worst out of the cave
Oust them out of this machine
To see the sun
Source of light
And out of fright
And let these best and worst return to the cave
For the cave IS the ideal city
A city of ignorance and evil
And let them return unnoticed
Ridiculed, crucified, and beheaded
Let the people of the cave push away those who will save them
And the prophet looked back and said, I offered you a simple city
A true and Standing utopia
But you wanted more
In a world where more just isn't enough
And we will instead meet our end
The ideal city
Obscurity and complexity
Everything you want
Including what you shouldn't
DEMI - PARADISE
I love stepping out in the morning, even going to work.
The air is clean and the town is quiet with no traffic.
If the snow’s been falling I don’t see the trash in the murk.
Stillness like dawn in Eden is perfect, almost photographic.
Purity and innocence in the city streets for a moment.
Childlike delight in footprint and fog-breath and star.
A cover of sinlessness for the damned city, city of descent .
Now for a short while it is possible to secretly smile from afar.
