Zero and One

I...
You...

I cannot be.
I cannot be if that's the person you see.

Be not a sleuth.

I have nothing to hide and everything to prove.
I was the reason for your heartache, well that was before.
I may have made some mistakes. Never again, I've swore.

Please believe in the truth of my breaths,

I have given everything, there's nothing left,
I am forever apologetic for what I have done,
I cannot turn back time. From the past, I can never run.
I am here and now. Let my actions speak.
I am not the past for the future you picked.

How can I be all this when I am always on your side,

I have no other motives. No Dr. Jackal, no Mr. Hyde,
I am committed to you and us,
I am the person you should trust,
I've been breaking backs, sowing for our future,
I have been trying my best to make things easier,
I am giving all that I have, every day, every time,
I will give up my every freedom, every dime,
I will walk through hell and back for you,

No matter how hard I try, I can only be, if you change your point of view.
