Notes About The Poem

Zaddik

Given that we nurture ego with thought,
what if we shift to heart,
free from fears lower mind begot,
                    for a fresh start?

Thoughts of ‘I, me, mine’ rested, who we are,
shines forth as love and light.
      Since we’ve drifted afar
                    our heart’s contrite.

There is no judgment for we are God’s child,
          who wishes to return
      and having renounced cravings wild,
                    choose now to learn.
