Your Meteorologist

Let me introduce myself,
I'm someone on the local news.
I don't sit high upon a shelf,
I just give weather reviews.
Your friendship I may not gain,
I wish I could although.
I cannot help it if it rains,
certainly can't stop the snow.
I hear whispers of a voice,
they ask can I do better.
Thinking somehow I have a choice,
like I control the weather.
If I could I'd make it shine,
this would be first on my list.
But dear friends of mine,
I can't give you this wish.
I cannot make the weather,
so understand this.
Let's just all stick together,
I'm only your meteorologist.
