Your Memory
Your Memory
Your memory to me,
is edged forever in my mind.
These vivid memories,
Of a wonderful time.
Your wisdom and warmth,
Shielded me from life’s rain.
I rested under your wings,
And felt no pain.
And when the sun shined,
You would lift me high.
And taught me the answers,
To all my questions of why.
You watched me grow,
Into the likeness of you.
As I mimicked your ways,
To get me through.
I saw your wink of approval,
When I became a man.
It was time to let go,
Of your loving hands.
And not long after I did,
You were taken away.
To a place in heaven,
For a permanent stay.
Though I wasn’t ready to let go,
God know it was for the best.
Your overworked, tired body,
Needed the rest.
But your memory still lives,
Strong in my mind.
As I daily think back,
To that wonderful time.
