Your Life is a Cup a song

Your life is a cup
that you fill with your own choosing
it may be a hot brew
or a bitter swill you obsess on as you are losing

If someone accidentally bumps into you
as they cross your path
what spills over and out of you
kindness or is it wrath?

It's your choice
your life is yours
no one made you
girls and boys

It's not pretend
You only have one life
and in the end no one gets out alive

Own your own feelings
own your experience
set your own goals
and work it till the end

Others can assist with guidance
but your life is up to you
You need to master the tools
that will allow  you to follow through

You manifest what you obsess on
so if its defeat you concentrate on
Energy draws to where intenion is set
and it's perfectly natural too

So put your head, heart and feet
on the path to what you want
and leave behind that which no longer serves
And that is the way you will get what you deserve

So fill your cup of life
with what you want to spill out
what do you want to be about
to be known for in the end

It's not pretend
You only have one life
and in the end no one gets out alive

But you do leave a legacy behind

Susan Manley July 6, 2024 at 9:44 AM Thanks, your praise always means the world. I have been writing music/ songs lately and I hope to drop some more poems here. ( I have a bunch of unpublished work) but ... as you know it takes time.
