Your Delicious Face
Walking beside the ocean always fills me with emotion
Reminiscing of that special day when first I saw your face
You were swimming in the deep blue sea and passing by you waved at me
I caught my breath, as time stood still, my heart began to race
You swam into the distance, although I begged you not to go
But deep inside I know you came to say you loved me so
Since then I’ve seen you many times, such warmth you bring into my soul
For each time that I see your smile it gives me peace just for a while
That day had been our happiest, as we picnicked by the sea
You said you loved me more than life, as you proposed to me
I paused a little, for a joke; your sad face on, my dear sweet bloke
And then we went in for a swim the sea so calm and warm within
For just a second I glanced away towards the beach beyond
And as I turned to talk to you, you were not there, you’d gone
I screamed your name; I went berserk; my mind went crazy it would not work
They searched all night to no avail; my life stood still, yours was curtailed
But now we have this special time so poignant and so precious
For when my heart begins to race I search for your delicious face
I am the only one to see, your wave, your smile, you’re in the sea
And one day you will take my hand, as I sit waiting on the sand
Our time will come when we will swim, together as we always planned
