Your Almost Smile

Listen to poem:
YOUR ALMOST SMILE Too many times I've seen you almost smile. Your sadness reached for me, you did not know. I had the love, and had to let it show, for you to think of me and almost smile. My emptiness was almost in your eyes. But rivers run too deep and that is me. Your almost smile was almost there to see, but I was never someone in your eyes. So many times I've seen you almost cry. I have some photographs, I love them still. Your almost smile still shows and always will, and I still love the way you almost cry. Too many times I've seen you almost smile. The river deep, the smile that almost was, will go forever, for what good it does, and I will not forget your almost smile. © ron wilson aka veebdosa the doylestown poet
