Young Love

YOUNG LOVE Therefore young love affords a promise ring. Angels beam with shoulders bent aquiver. His woolen arm shushes her from shiver. Perchance the wedding bells one day will sing. An ache of warmth - the trials yet to come. The constant text of hearts, smilies and such. And lucid lips that glide and long for touch. The fate’s a fire that wants a loving home. A day of reckoning might bruise their way for things do change - the crooked path, love’s test. Of months and years, life’s cares will do their best to break you down or up — perhaps you’ll stay. Ah, beginning of love with all its zest. Oh, days of wisdom wait at length impressed. 1/2/2019

Expectations are too high for some young lovers and they let the downs divide them. But those who ride the waves eventually sail into calm waters. Very lovely Kim! Have a wonderful new year! xxoo : )

I had forgotten of the sweet promise rings. I cannot help but wonder if they are still alive and well? The poem is sweetly- done and reminds me of a simpler, more innocent time in the world though, Kim.So thank you for that memory.
