Young Love
YOUNG LOVE
Therefore young love affords a promise ring.
Angels beam with shoulders bent aquiver.
His woolen arm shushes her from shiver.
Perchance the wedding bells one day will sing.
An ache of warmth - the trials yet to come.
The constant text of hearts, smilies and such.
And lucid lips that glide and long for touch.
The fate’s a fire that wants a loving home.
A day of reckoning might bruise their way
for things do change - the crooked path, love’s test.
Of months and years, life’s cares will do their best
to break you down or up — perhaps you’ll stay.
Ah, beginning of love with all its zest.
Oh, days of wisdom wait at length impressed.
