Young Joseph
In the land of Canaan Jacob settled
with his two wives Leah and Rachel
with God he once wrestled
Later being named Israel
Jacob-Israel had 12 sons
And he loved Joseph a little more than the other ones
upon him he bestowed a coat of many colors
Oh young Joseph seventeen was given messages in his dreams
from things of sheafs, the sun moon and stars that were
bowing down to him
Joseph's brothers fed on their jealousy
plotting out against the boy without any integrity
tossing him into a pit selling him in to slavery
to get rid of him
His brothers took a young kid and
dipped the coat of many colors
in its blood bringing it to their father Jacob-Israel
who mourned with grief and hurt filled with disbelief
Oh young Joseph seventeen many years have gone by
Since you stood in front of your family, yet now
Your unrecognized
A ruler in Egypt the LORD GOD made you in the land
you were first a slave to
oh young Joseph....
Oh Young Joseph your emotions are wild
as you see your family and remember seventeen
Tears you no longer fight back
as you embrace with love your brothers
with arms wide open your all a little broken
Yet you tell them there's no blame among them from what
was done in the past
For it was God who brought you to
this land to save them from the famine at hand
Oh young Joseph seventeen
God's given you so much more than you ever dreamed
