Young bird, just learning to fly. Young bird, never has cried. Young bird, has never known the truth. Young bird, I'll remember, the innocent youth.

the bird represents a past me, one who was just learning her way "to fly", one who wasn't sad "never has cried", one who didn't know how horrible the world and everything are "the truth", one who was still innocent and young "the innocent youth"
