You'Ll Never Know

You could never know the pain that she is feeling.
You tell her everyday she deserves the pain and bleeding.
You never stay to hear her cry, or watch the tears that fall.
Instead you say some empty words that mean nothing at all.
She walks alone, behind the crowd, listening for a voice.
You turn your head, avert your eyes, as if you have no choice.
She’s peeling petals from a rose, for every time she’s wrong
Nothing done is ever right, and if it is, its not for long.
Her tearless eyes float past these halls that haunt her everyday,
Only waiting for night to come, so that she can kneel and pray.
This house doesn’t welcome her, and barely keeps her warm.
Still she sleeps with shattered bliss, and when she wakes she’s just as torn.
She’ll walk behind, and call your name, only to hope for a glance.
A smile gives hope, gives light, gives love, gives life another chance.
