In the silence of a summer night, I look up at the moon and embrace its warm and soothing light. A light and warmth that fills every emotion that touches my soul, And soars it to a memory of a time so long ago. A time unlike where I am today, A time I longed to be in but it’s here I must stay. Leaving me with only memories of a life and a love I left behind, Memories of a man I promised to be with until the end of our time. As I sit down and shake my head and think how foolish it was of me, This is just a memory and a memory is what it only be. A dream of a young girl and her handsome young man So in love were they as they walked in the moonlight hand and hand.
