You were a Rose

You were a rose, so full and fair, Your petals soft, your beauty rare. You stood tall, with grace and might, Until the one you loved, plucked you in sight. With every petal that fell to the ground, A piece of your heart was torn away, without a sound. You didn’t feel it, until it was too late, And you were left with nothing, but an empty, hollow state.
