You Taught Me

6 You taught me how to love, And taught me how to see, That a pretty girl, Isn't all that's right for me. Although you were ever so pretty, Me and you weren't right, We were too different for eachother, But you taught me how to fight. How to fight for what I want, Fight for what's in my head, Regret is not a word,  From my mouth to be said. You broke my heart, you know it's true. But you let me know there was someone around to fix it, Someone who wasn't you. You taught me so much, Things I never knew about my self, You're a huge part of what,  What maintains my mental health. You taught me how to deal,  You taught me how to cope, You taught me to find what's real, When I'm at the end of my rope. You taught me how to hold on, To what I really want, You taught me how to move on, So that love doesn't haunt. I still think I wasn't enough, I sometimes say I miss you, But you'll always be my first love, And I'll always be here for you.
