You Sink, I Swim

I’ve fought for awhile
Tried to keep us afloat
Like a tidal wave
You’re sinking this boat
I’ve sailed this troubled sea
For you and for me
I look towards the future,
towards the lighthouse at home
You steer for the reef
Try to bring us both down
Together, alone
I’m trying to swim
But am going nowhere
You’re an anchor on my leg
Trying to steal all my air
You pull me down
Let water in my lungs
Blacking out
Tasting salt on my tongue
I can’t save you
I’ll cut the line
And save myself

Sad write about a sad relationship. Very descriptive. Keep the creative pen flowing. Sara
