You Need Hands

We take our hands for granted, We use them all the time Although my hands are wrinkled, They suit me fine Hardworking hands That has become strong Babies chubby fingers That grows elegant and long Girls with piano fingers That softly touch the keys, That makes melodious music That puts the listeners at ease Gentle hands that soothe When someone is feeling blue Pain can be relieved And pacify you Shaking of hands To say, "You have done well." It's a kind gesture That can make your heart swell. The happy sound of clapping When your favourite team has won All the back-slapping After an afternoon of fun. We take our hands for granted We use them all the time Even though my hands are old and wrinkled I am grateful they are mine.

A great 'treatise!' of worthy reflections penned here, Shirley. I've got to 'hand it to you...'

Wonderful Shirley, what would we without hands, no one could make music in a musical band, or write poetry with pen and ink, the thought makes a heart sink. We have to be grateful for our hands and give thought to and admire those who by accident or birth have lost a hand or even two, yet they bravely get by, that’s wonderful too… Belle
