YOU, ME, AND PRIORITY
Got to start timing my time,
Because when it comes to mine,
I only have a little time left here to stay;
So let me get on with what I have to say:-
Don’t know
If I can keep
This rhythmic flow
As I continue to go,
But assure you
An awareness beat;
So, before you fall asleep,
Let me move on, my friend,
And you’ll soon see
The situation we’re in,
And maybe comprehend
Before we reach the end:
That you may know
Where we now need to go,
As well as,
How much wisdom
We need to sow
With the fertile hued seeds
We now need to really grow:-
There’s this Oppressor syndrome,
That has infected our village home;
Causing so much painful hurt,
Bleeding blood into our hood’s dirt;
We need to get our reality together,
Knowing we are not here
To murder one another:
Father,
Mother,
Sister,
Brother,
Nor Any Extended Family Other:-
Oh, I’m not talking to the syndrome dead,
But to those still here with brains in their head:
Let us return our weary eyes
To the ever fought for prize,
Not halting here at the mountaintop,
But sojourning without another stop,
Through the valley of the shadow of death,
Stepping in the footprints the Ancestors left:-
Indeed, let us reconcile one another,
In amazing grace,
As we move on to liberating our
Weary oppressed race;
For if we’re going to arrive
Where we ought to be,
It's going to have to be
Because of you and me,
And our anchored priority
In healing the syndrome
Conundrum and its filthy debris;
Thus, in these words I’m laying,
I’m praying you’re grasping what I’m saying
About you and me, and our immediate priority:-
