Notes About The Poem

To know yourself better, think, what others will think, when they hear what you have to say. Bigotry cannot be overcome unless we do that first. We have freedom of speech but that doesn't say we aren't to be held accountable for what we say.

You May Be a Bigot

You May Be a Bigot
By Franklin Price

You may be a bigot
If the following's okay
You may not like to hear it
But you're a bigot anyway

On the news today I heard
What says bigot in my view
“I'm not anti-semitic
One of my lawyers is a Jew”

I'm so glad you see it. When everyone sees it, we are on the way to minimizing bigotry. We will never end it. People and religion won't allow it.
