You Made a Promise
You made a promise never to hurt me.
But you grabbed my throat and choked me.
You said it was my fault because I made you mad.
You didn't know why you did it.
And promised it wouldn't happen again.
I believed you because you promised me.
You made a promise not do it again and you did.
But this time I was carrying your son and you squeezed a little harder.
You got scared and left.
You didn't care if I was hurt or not.
Once again it was my fault because I made you mad.
This time you said you was sorry and promised it wouldn't happen again.
And I believed you because you promised me.
You made a promise never to hit me and you did.
This time you bruised my eye and the side of my head.
You got scared and was gone for two days.
You didn't care about how bad you hurt me.
You said it was my fault.
How could it be my fault?
I didn't make you hit me.
Again you said you was sorry and promised that this was the last time.
But this time I didn't believed you because you lied to me before.
This time I made my own promises.
I promise that you won't hit me again.
I promise that I won't believe what you say.
I promise that you won't scare me anymore.
And this promise I make to you.
I promise that you will never hurt me again because I'll be gone.
