Notes About The Poem

You Look Like Love To Me

You Look Like Love To Me

I've been to state and county fairs
I've crossed the great divide.
I swam across Niagra Falls
to reach the other side.

I knocked a ball out of the park
I hit a hole in one.
I swore that I would do it all
before my life was done.

I jumped from a plane so high
and fell through hoops on fire.
They all thought I lost my mind
I kept yelling take me higher.

But it stopped me in my tracks
I can't believe just what I see!
I looked into your big blue eyes
and you look like love to me.

I wrestled with a grizzly bear
a crocodile and a snake.
Just when it started getting fun
they all took a break.

I climbed a big ole mountain once
that's known for being steep.
Just to make things interesting
I did it in my sleep.

I deep sea dived the ocean
long after it got dark.
The boat they left without me
so I rode back on a shark.

I made ten million tooth picks
I carved out of a tree.
And I just can't believe my eyes
cause you look like love to me.
