You Left Me

YOU LEFT ME!

Why did you leave?
You left me in the cold
You left me broken and bruised 
You took my heart 
Ripped it in two
And threw it away
Like you did nothing wrong 
What was it? 
Did I do something wrong?
Was I not enough?
Did I not care enough?
Love you enough?
NO! 
I loved you! 
I gave you my heart
I did everything I could... 
To make you care...
To make you love me...
To make you stay... 
You cheated 
You lied 
You didn't care
Couldn't you see that you were hurting me!
Then you left me
There in the cold
Left me broken and bruised 
And then you come crawling back! 
When I'm finally happy
When I finally feel safe 
It's too late for you
You missed your chance 
And me... 
I'm happier than I've ever been 
I have someone who cares about me
Loves me
He fixed my broken heart
That you gave me...
He would never cheat
Lie 
Or leave me in the cold
Broken and bruised
Just like you did
You left me...

thank you very much. i love how supporting and positive you guys are. not many people are to me, so this means a lot thank you :) and the reason i started writing poems is so i can show my emotions through writing. and what do you mean by "constructive criticism?" and thank you again :)

Hi, Lexi.... I love this style so smuch awesome free verse...I have a friend named Caleb... Who writes in this style and format. I'm giving you a high 7 for this post.... Linda
