You Know Una

She is the only one for me
What a difficult place to be?
Sandwiched between two boys
No place for dolls, among the toys

She took many hits on the road
A jump from a bus, I failed to board
A thrashing for a wardrobe fire, I lit
Stood up for me when I could only sit

In quick time, her dreams became valid
From school life to Ivy league rapid
Watched as I sprinted, stumbled, fell flat
The maze nearly ate up another rat

Loyal and pragmatic to a fault
Whenever life’s hilIs, I couldn’t pole vault
On a road from the circus, watched me nearly die
In her brush with death, I could not fly

Another milestone for her, no more
We celebrate being siblings, a whole three score
Thankful for a sister so strong and wise
Always ready to help her brother rise

Happy Birthday Una and many more
This time in rhyme, I will be at the fore
I am proud of you and wish you well
So much love, about which to tell
