YOU KNOW MY HEART LORD

You know what my heart wants to say
Let my mouth find the right words 
don't allow me to utter something Lord 
completely absurd 

let the words out of my mouth 
be acceptable in Your sight 
Lord anchor my tongue 
allow me to articulate just right 

You know my heart Lord 
please temper my tone
let me not say something 
that might get overblown 

let the words out of my mouth
be acceptable in Your sight 
Lord anchor my tongue. 
allow me to articulate just right 

You know my heart Lord 
for I surrendered it to You 
You know my heart Lord 
as I walk in Your truths 
You know my heart Lord 
for I acquiesced to you my soul 
You know my heart Lord 
because it was You who made it whole

let the words out of my mouth 
be acceptable in Your sight 
Lord anchor my tongue 
allow me to articulate just right 

too often we speak 
without thinking first 
too often we say things 
that are unrehearsed 
not realizing our words 
can be misconstrued 
not realizing we may 
come off as being rude

You know I mean no harm 
Lord, let the words I speak 
come off with a measure of charm

You know what I want to say 
may the words out of my mouth
be like the words I used to pray
