You ignore your Soul's cries Becoming frozen in resistance

You ignore your Soul's cries (Becoming frozen in resistance) By Michelle Morris 12/11/2024 You'd rather lose the girl Than become a better man You're "happy" to be set in your ways Be rigid, controlled and bland You ignore your Heart's voice You ignore your Soul's cries You keep it all under Lock and Key For you think that's where Safety lies But I've got news for you, my friend You're merely losing Time It keeps on ticking over each day Running through the Sands like Wildfire Where Ancient Forests get decimated All Life gets burned to the ground Tick, tick, tick, tick... Until there's no longer any Sound When are you going to take stock And embrace your deepest Passions? When are you going to undo the Locks And allow Love and Light to be in Fashion? You'd rather listen to sad, heartbreak music Than risk putting your Heart on the line You're "happy" caring for nothing Because you're avoiding feelings sublime It's way too overwhelming for you You who want cold and distance All that ice in your veins is killing you You're becoming frozen in resistance But you forget about inflexibility How it's so very bad for your Soul If you can't move with Grace and adapt to Life Your Body's dis-ease is the thing that shows All that pent up Rage and Hunger All those emotions stagnant and locked away You're going to have to break to Free them It's unfortunately the only way To let the Light in to warm you Your Body, Heart, Mind and Soul To give you Hope and Faith And Grace and Mercy untold For you to Survive and Thrive To become a better you To eventually let someone in Who might reveal new Truths Maybe you'll get the girl next time Maybe you'll be Happier one day But until that Miracle occurs For you I'll just keep Praying © Michelle Morris, 2024
