You Have the Right To Get Pepper Spray In Your Face
You Have the Right to Get
Pepper Spray in Your Face
By Elton Camp
What the protest movements are about I don’t understand
But I do comprehend police getting totally out of hand
Students sat, arms interlocked, peacefully on the ground
To spray them in their faces, a cop walked up and down
Give some folks a bit of authority and it goes to their head
And they will do what they want, not what is right instead
Of course, he will make some excuse to say that he did right
But his vile actions, sad for him, were with a camera in sight
I’m sure most of us have experienced cop bullying before
It is an abuse of power that shouldn’t be tolerated anymore
The cop should be discharged or suspended without any pay
But if he keeps his job, he must be told not ever do that way
Perhaps the protesters are not without a measure of blame
But for a cop to do a thing like that is a disgrace and shame
